"'Finding your voice' is leaving home to begin the quest to find your way back home again. It is a quest to honor your calling, to seek to see your own life as God does. It is terrifying, hopeful and unavoidable.

I would not call this little collection a hodgepodge. It is a map of my journey, back and forth, weaving without knowing the pattern, in the quest for my own voice. They are songs, little poems and pastoral prayers written for congregational settings. They are written over many years, some as early as college and early days in ministry. Others were produced under the fire of weekly demands of ministry, simply because I needed “something” to say. Still others came on me like Jacob’s mysterious visitor at the Jabbok and I wrestled all night for a blessing."
